Richard Salley

May 15-17, 2009

Richard Salley has been a public school teacher in Southern California for 31 years. He has taught grades k-12, incorporating art into as many lessons as possible. Most recently he has taught Photography at the high school level.

Richard began working with metal as an assistant to Carmel metal sculptor Malcom Moran in 1969. His interest in metal work has recently turned toward jewelry. Keith Lo Bue, Susan Lenart-Kazmer and Robert Dancik have been major influences and all have helped point him in the direction of ‘found object’ jewelry and a love for cold connections. His work has been recently featured in ‘Step-by-Step Wire Jewelry’ and ‘Jewelry Artist’ magazines.
